Choose Compassion and Fight for Change

Choose compassion and fight for change. Don't fight the little picture fight the big picture. Fight that we have zoos and animals in captivity. Fight that each year millions and billions of animals are killed, such as 41,700,000 cows, 4,300,000 sheep, 115,200,000 pigs, and 9 billion chickens. 2.7 million animals are euthanized each year in shelters so stop breeding of animals. This is a Cecil situation all over again. Save others like Cecil by stopping trophy hunting. Save others like Harambe by closing zoos. Save animals by going vegan.

I am devastated there are zoos. I am devastated that a gorilla was killed. I am devastated for a boy that had a life threatening traumatic experience. I am devastated for the mom who must have been freaking the fuck OUT because I have had moments of panic. Things happen in seconds. I am also devastated with how awful the humans have been. People on social media have made me feel sick about our society. What does posting a nasty message on social media do for anyone? An article I read really hits home a home run for me...."... It’s okay to be angry about the gorilla dying. It’s okay to be furious that a mother let her son out of her sight long enough for him to fall into the enclosure. It’s okay to be pissed that the zoo made the decision to shoot the gorilla. It’s okay to feel all these feelings in unison, and still decide to not say hateful, holier-than-thou things about the people actually involved. ...If you’re angry, use that as fuel to incite change. ... Maybe gorillas shouldn’t be in zoos at all. If you’re angry, use that as fuel to incite change...."  You can read the whole article here.
