Vegan Author and poetic healer: Neal Grace
1. Why have you chosen to become vegan? Can you tell us about your journey to become vegan?I have been a vegetarian/vegan for approximately 45 years. I became a vegan about 25 years ago. The reason I have chosen this special lifestyle is manifold:
1. I love and revere all life forms. Therefore, eating a dead one is unthinkable to me on all levels. It would be the same as eating a human being. Disgusting!
2. It is unhealthy to eat dead flesh.
3. The vibration of a dead animal inside my body would be a toxic invasion to my spiritual practices.
4. The taste of dead flesh is abominable!
5. Dead meat in any form drains my energy and leaves me suffering the pain of the animal's slaughter.
2. How do you connect to the world and its energies? The world is a mystical and magical place teeming with energy in a wild array of expressions. I connect to the world as if it were an extension of my own body. I love it wildly and adore its diversity. The world is a sacred temple for me to explore and cherish. The energies of the world sustain me and inspire me onward in my own personal journey of discovery and transcendence.3. Is there a way that other's could feel more connected/enlightened?Yes, there is. By learning to appreciate everything exactly the way things show up in your life. Be ever grateful for the gift of life. Be thrilled and enthralled with what is offered you in the moment. Open yourself fully to the flow of life. Stop being self-obsessed by focusing more on the world around you. Don't be so fixed to your position; instead learn from varying perspectives by gleaning the essence of wisdom everything can impart to you. Have fun and celebrate life in each moment.
4. Can you share your favorite poetry piece?Lift up your eyes to the stars. Wider! More Exalted! More stupefied!Do you think you are not part of this magnificent grandeur and mystery?Do you think you are any less miraculous that the vision before you?Do you think creation can ignore you or you it?Do you know that beyond the trappings of your thoughts, there is only love?(I just made this up.)5.
