Stay Vocal Reuse,Because You Can't Recycle the Planet

There are so many people in the world stepping up and fighting for our world.  Alex, founder of Stay Vocal T-shirt Company and Documentarian Of Stay Vocal: 'Reuse, Because you Can't Recycle the Planet' has been making choices all his life to reduce the consumption of one time use products and to save this planet we call home.  He is a vegan, an activist and all over positive person.  I am glad to know him. 

Lifelong passion for finding solutions

It's a lifelong passion for finding solutions to problems. When I was younger, I was really into math and jigsaw puzzles. And when I got older, it was waste problems. There was one specific instance when I was selling merchandise for bands when 144 brand new T-Shirts were going to be destroyed because the print was wrong. I couldn't let that happen, so I found a solution by putting patches over the original designs. That was the real kickstart to my passion for reuse as a solution to our worldwide waste problem.

Who is Stay Vocal?

STAY VOCAL is a Green America certified reuse apparel brand. We rescue T-Shirts and give them a second life. So, instead of printing on new T-Shirts, we print on pre-owned ones. Some of them come from thrift stores or through donations, but we also work with organizations, bands, and brands that are discarding brand new shirts that can't be sold for numerous reasons. As for the designs on our shirts, they all represent a progressive, positive world; everything from reusing to human equality to animal rights. That's why it was a perfect fit to collaborate with Sanctuary Bistro.

Mission, goals and accomplishments.

A main mission with STAY VOCAL is to encourage people to reuse whenever and wherever possible.  Our reusing doesn’t stop with the shirts that we sell. We reuse in any step that we can. Our orders are printed on the back of would be recycled paper, shipped in used packaging (mainly cereal boxes), with labels printed on scrap paper. Even our business cards are printed on used T-Shirts and then cut out.
In 2008, we won the Best Small Business Award from Advanta, Corporation and we have been named to Green America's Top 10 People's Choice Awards numerous times.

Tips to live a more compassionate life

When it comes to any decision that you have to make, from what you eat to what you wear to how you travel, just take a few seconds and think beyond that person in the mirror.
