Day 12: Gluten-Free and Vegan Decadent Holiday recipes: Crispy Bean Burgers
Chickpea Burgers... Life can feel Decadent but not weigh you down. These are a great patties to serve on gf buns, plain. We had them with salad and fries and topped with Chili (not pictured), hot sauce and mustard. (I did mention that this was decadent.) It is a nice, light burger that you can make rich in a variety of ways. Top with "Daiya" or Grilled marinated mushrooms or sauteed onions.... if you think it you can top it... as long as it is delicious food. :) The best is to make a vegan aioli with vegan mayo! We like to mix the mayo with a chili powder and salt.
Day 12:
Crispy Bean Burgers
2 cups garbanzos, cooked1tsp salt1T garlic powder1tsp onion powder2tsp chili powder2 tsp cumin2T nutritional yeast3T brown rice flower1/4 cup GF breadWaterolive oil
1. Place all of the ingredients into a food processor and blend until smooth.2. Slowly add water until the mixture forms balls.3. Make the mixture into patties and fry the patties on both sides until crispy. (just light oil in the pan.)
